Partnerships between Indiana's institutions of higher education are essential to the success of the Indiana Life Sciences Initiative. Indiana University cannot move the state as far and as fast as necessary without the participation of Purdue University, the University of Notre Dame, and other Indiana universities.

The partnerships IU already has established with Purdue, Notre Dame, and the other Indiana institutions hosting School of Medicine centers for medical education will flourish through more focused and strategic collaborations. The result will be more discoveries, better health care, new products, and more jobs.

Collaboration also will bring more non-state government investments to the Indiana Life Sciences Initiative. Over time, Indiana postsecondary institutions will continue to develop complementary life sciences programs consistent with their missions.
